With the ongoing issues surrounding prescription drugs in the United States, the push for natural products and cannabis treatments have been pushed to the forefront.

Canbiola, a developer, manufacturer and seller of various hemp products, recently appointed former New York Giants defensive lineman Leonard Marshall to its Sports Advisory Board.

Marshall, who spent 11 years in the NFL from 1983-1994, has been very supportive of the potential use of hemp products, citing that it could help the overall quality of life for past and present football players.

“I am proud to partner with Canbiola and endorse their CBD products and solutions to the market. Their team has developed unique CBD products to address tissue healing and chronic pain that I, as an ex-NFL player use to improve my quality of life. I look forward to increasing the awareness of Canbiola’s products to the mass consumer market,” Marshall said.

Part of Marshall’s advocacy for cannabis came when it was discovered that he had CTE, which was discovered in 2013 and treated. Marshall was also part of the class-action lawsuit against the NFL because of the aftermath of CTE.

Marshall found the program Game Plan Foundation, which provides assistance to former athletes who suffer from neurological disorders.

Marshall, who played for the Giants from 1983-1992 and won two Super Bowls with the team, was also enshrined in the LSU Hall of Fame back in 2008.
