Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence had some fun trolling New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning on Twitter on Thursday.
Lawrence, who has compiled 25 sacks over the last two seasons, recently netted a huge contract from the Dallas Cowboys for five years and $105 million ($65 million guaranteed) as a result of his elite play.
While recovering from surgery that repaired a torn labrum in his shoulder, Lawrence wanted to share some of his get-well gift from Snickers with Manning.
Manning and the Giants have been victims of 3.5 of Lawrence’s 34 career sacks, two of which came in 2018. Naturally, Lawrence wanted to thank Manning by giving him a piece of his chocolate riches.
Considering the awful offensive line play the Giants have seen the past few seasons, perhaps Lawrence should send some of those Snickers bars to the linemen who have been tasked with protecting Manning.
Even with little protection and Lawrence harassing him, Manning put up solid numbers against his division rival last year. He completed 67 percent of his passes and totaled 580 yards, with three touchdowns to one pick.
Despite having offseason surgery, Lawrence has already proclaimed that he will be ready for the start of the 2019 season. That’s bad news for Big Blue, as the G-Men will meet the Cowboys in Week 1 in Dallas. The Cowboys come to MetLife Stadium for Week 9 on November 4th.
Lawrence will look to continue his success against the Giants, but he might have a tougher time thanks to an improved offensive line that should give him more of a challenge.
