Experts heap praise on Dwayne Haskins after Pro Day; Visits set up with Giants, 4 other teams

Ohio State hosted many NFL teams at their Pro Day on Wednesday, and though DE Nick Bosa didn’t participate in any drills, top-rated QB Dwayne Haskins showcased his talents on the indoor turf. And the results were impressive.

Experts on hand to watch the 6-foot-3, 231-pound Haskins sent rave reviews out through Twitter after watching him go through his full workout where he missed only a couple throws. The consensus was Haskins hits all the marks physically, and he showcased his arm strength and accuracy the entire time.

Among the teams watching were the Giants, who own the No. 6 overall pick and have been linked to Haskins through multiple mock drafts including ESPN’s Todd McShay. The Giants had met Haskins for dinner on Tuesday night, and reportedly came away impressed by his intelligence, per NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala.

The Giants brought a large group to watch Haskins perform, and that included head coach Pat Shurmur, Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Chris Mara, and Director of College Scouting Chris Pettit. They were standing right behind Haskins as he began his drills.

Now, with Pro Day over, Haskins already has individual visits with teams including the Giants, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Raiders (No. 4 overall pick), Broncos (No. 10), Dolphins (No. 13), and Redskins (No. 15) also have dates set for a visit.

This was another positive sign that Haskins could be the right man for the Giants to draft as Eli Manning’s successor.
