Former Giants great Tiki Barber makes Broadway debut in ‘Kinky Boots’

Former Giants RB Tiki Barber took his talents to Broadway for the first time this weekend as he turned heads on a different stage.

After a professional career that revolved around football, whether it was on the gridiron itself or up in the booth, Barber’s newest chapter received high praise.

Barber joined the cast of the Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots and played Don in the Broadway show. The role required the 43-year-old to flex his vocal range and hit a high note in one of the songs, according to TMZ. At the end of the show, Barber was awarded a bouquet of roses for his efforts.

Barber fans still have time to get tickets, as he will stay on the cast through March 3. The original cast member, Daniel Stewart Sherman, will return on March 4 to reclaim his role. Barber joined Eddie George, a running back in the league for nine seasons, as another NFL star to take his talents to the stage.

“I am so excited to be making my Broadway debut in Kinky Boots,”  Barber said in a statement in December. “I was very fortunate to be part of the New York Giants for ten years and feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway.”
