Giants activate WR Cody Latimer from IR per report
The Giants bring back the wide receiver to fill a roster spot
Jordan Ranaan is reporting this morning that the New York Giants are activating wide receiver Cody Latimer from the injured reserve list following the loss of Antonio Hamilton.
WR Cody Latimer was activated off IR. He takes the roster spot of CB Antonio Hamilton. Latimer injured his hamstring in mid-October covering a punt. He can fill Hamilton’s role on STs + into the WR mix with Odell Beckham (quad) and Russell Shepard (ankle) struggling with injuries

Latimer was one of the Giants’ bigger off-season acquisitions a year ago. The former Denver Broncos receiver was expected to serve as the Giants’ third receiver and provide a contrast to the smaller and quicker Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard.
Latimer did not have the impact it was hoped he would before his injury, but he was able to put his size, speed, body control, and ability at the catch point on display a few times.
As Ranaan points out, Latimer will be in the receiving mix for the Giants with Beckham and Russell Shepard dealing with injuries. The Giants are likely hoping to see something from him on offense and special teams before once again going into an offseason full of questions.
