Odell Beckham Jr. is no longer a Giant.
The Giants traded the star wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday in exchange for the Browns’ first-round pick (No. 17 overall), their second third-round pick (No. 96 overall) this year, plus safety Jabrill Peppers, SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano on confirmed.
Beckham, 26, signed a five-year, $90 million contract with the Giants last summer with $41 million guaranteed.
GM Dave Gettleman repeatedly said this offseason that the organization did not sign him to trade him when pressed about whether or not they could possibly deal the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver.
Beckham will still count for $16 million against the Giants’ cap in 2019.
The star wide receiver was a first-round pick in 2014 and won Rookie of the Year despite playing in jsut 12 games, hauling 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He reached the Pro Bowl his first three season but he broke his ankle in Week 5 of 2017, which forced him to have season-ending surgery.
He returned in 2018 but played in jsut 12 games, catching 77 passes and six touchdowns.
Beckham’s time with the Giants was often marred by distractions off the field, most recently an interview with ESPN in October in which he had difficulty saying he was happy playing in New York.
