Giants draft pick Corey Ballentine paid touching tribute to slain college roommate Dwane Simmons on Twitter on Monday.
“I love you forever,” Ballentine, 23, wrote above photos of him and the fellow Washburn University grid star, also 23, who was shot dead outside an off-campus party Saturday night — as the pair celebrated Ballentine being draft by the Giants.
“God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers,” Ballentine said. “Thank you for being a true friend who uplifted me, corrected me when i was in the wrong, and accepted my flaws.
“Thank you for being a brother to me. Thank you for letting me experience your life,” the football star added, signing off with a yellow heart emoji.
Ballentine was wounded in the gunfire.
