Giants had Chanel Iman nervous before $41 million Sterling Shephard deal

Sterling Shepard isn’t the only member of his family excited to be staying in New York.

“I’m so excited just for the years ahead, staying here in New York,” wife and former Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman told the Post exclusively at a cocktail party celebrating 21c Museum Hotels joining the MGallery Hotel Collection on Monday night. “I’ve been in the city for 10 years.”

Before Shepard, 25, signed his four-year $41 million contract, he watched as the team got rid of his pal Odell Beckhan, showing how uncertain the NFL could be.

“Oh yeah [I was nervous],” Iman, 28, said.

“You never know where you’re going to end up. To know that he got chosen to stay in a place that we really love, we’re really excited to be here.”

She added, “We are family people so wherever we end up, we’re really just gonna take in where we live. But we’re so blessed to be able to be in a place that we really really love to be.”

After solidifying his place as a focal point of the team, Shepard is out to prove himself this season. “I’m no longer a young guy,’’ he said in April. “I’m a vet now. This contract says a lot, so I’m going to handle it the right way.”

While Shepard prepares for the season with the Giants at training camp, Iman is with their 9-month-old daughter Cali Clay Shepard, getting geared up in their own way. While New York Fashion Week takes up time in September (though Shepard brought baby Cali to the Christian Siriano show to root on mom in February), Iman plans to spend as much time in the stands as possible.

“I don’t really do much of the Fashion Week stuff anymore, so it’s not really a conflict for me,” she said. “I like to go to the games, I’m gonna take [Cali]. Speaking of that, I gotta get her some custom jerseys so that we can support her dad the right way!”
