Eli Manning, the draft and more — as usual
Good morning, New York Giants fans!
Draft Network tells us that 10 of the 11 quarterbacks selected in the first round over the past three seasons have been selected by teams that traded up in the draft to get their guy. That’s something the Giants, sitting at No. 6, are certainly aware of and will need to think about if Dwayne Haskins is the guy they want as the heir to Eli Manning.
The Giants check in at No. 9. The following line in the post from The Athletic, though, rings entirely too true:
… the Eli Manning era is difficult to reconcile. Two Super Bowls are a fantastic item on his resume, but how does a franchise-level QB who is capable of winning multiple Lombardis not make the playoffs more often? Missing the entire tournament in eight of his last ten seasons is a real curiosity.
Landon Collins is on this list. so are a few other names that might interest the Giants.
Vacchiano, like most everyone else, gives the Giants Haskins at No. 6.
