Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Pro day takeaways – Why Drew Lock is getting top-10 NFL draft buzz | ESPN

Todd McShay came out of Lock’s Pro Day on Thursday believing it is “a three-horse race” for top quarterback in the draft class and that Lock “isn’t that far behind” Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins.

McShay also said “there are teams in the first round that prefer Lock over Haskins right now.”

Might the Giants be one of those teams?

NFL experts predict – Answering questions on 2019 free agency | ESPNS

As you might expect, ESPN’s panel blasted the Giants. Answering the question of what was the most head-scratching move of free agency, several panelists went to either the Giants entire plan or their signing of wide receiver Golden Tate.

Mike Clay: “This has to be Golden Tate to the Giants, right? He is a terrific player, and his four-year, $37.5 million deal was well-deserved, but the connection to the Giants makes little sense.”

Dan Graziano: “The Giants’ whole plan. Trading Beckham is a terrible idea. Letting Landon Collins walk without franchising him was a terrible decision. Signing Tate when your best remaining receiver is one who plays the same position — not great. Trading your only good pass-rusher in Olivier Vernon. I could go on and on. I feel as if I have been for weeks.”

Jason Reid: “The Giants have made so many head-scratchers, they deserve their own category … For many Giants fans, general manager Dave Gettleman is fast approaching Ray Handley territory.”

Field Yates: “I’ll use the Golden Tate move as a symbol for the confusion surrounding the Giants’ direction. Tate is awesome and worth the contract he earned, but all signs pointed toward the Giants rebuilding this offseason, prior to their handing out a four-year deal to the soon-to-be-31-year-old wideout.”

Shurmur praises Zeitler, Tate

Pat Shurmur gives big praise to new Giant Kevin Zeitler | New York Post

Giants coach Pat Shurmur is happy with the acquisitions of veterans Kevin Zeitler and Golden Tate.

On Zeitler

“He’s been a steady, solid performer at right guard and moving forward, you add a veteran presence at that position,’’ Shurmur told The Post on Wednesday from the Ohio State Pro Day in Columbus, Ohio. “I think of the uncertainly this time last year with the offensive line and I think about how that line grew, the players that are still here, how they grew as the season progressed and they developed. I thought [offensive line coaches Hal Hunter and Ben Wilkerson] did a good job of developing them.’’

On Tate …

“He’s a veteran presence. He’s very accomplished, caught roughly 90 balls a year, so he’s got production,’’ Shurmur said. “He’s got a Super Bowl ring. I’ve known about him, always admired him as a player and now he’s ours so I got a chance to sit down with him at length as well, talk about expectations and what our team is all about. I’m really glad we were able to add him.’’
