Move likely being made to bring back Wr Derrick Dillon
The move is likely being made to bring wide receiver Derrick Dillon back to the practice squad. Dillon, an undrafted rookie free agent, had been removed from the practice squad to go home and spend time with his newborn child.
Bachman was on the Giants’ practice squad a year ago, and was a standout during training camp. Perhaps the writing was on the wall for the 6-foot, 190-pound 24-year-old when he was not elevated from the practice squad to replace Golden Tate, who ended up inactive due to a hamstring injury.
Sounds even more like Dillon is the move.
I’m told WR Derrick Dillon is officially returning to the Giants’ practice squad and Alex Bachman is the corresponding move, opening up that spot. https://t.co/aZ8GuloCv3

Dillon, 24, had a fairly quiet training camp. Still, he has reportedly posted a 4.28 40-yard dash and the Giants likely believe he has more long-term upside than Bachman.
This is yet another example of how a coaching staff will look beyond training camp flash plays when constructing a roster.
Let’s hope Bachman finds an opportunity somewhere else.
