Voting has concluded and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has been named the 2018 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.

Barkley was one of five finalists that could be voted on to win the award, ultimately beating out the likes of Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay and Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard.

Barkley, a Pro Bowl selection, had 2,028 yards on offense (1,307 rushing, 721 receiving) and 15 total touchdowns on the season.

Barkley won the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award in Week 6, but that award was predominantly owned by Baker Mayfield throughout the season, having won it seven times this past year.

Unlike the NFL’s award, the Pepsi Rookie of the Year is decided via fan vote. The AP Offensive Rookie of the Year will be unveiled during NFL Honors on Saturday night, the eve of Super Bowl LIII.

In 2014, Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, but lost out on the Pepsi award to then-Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

The official announcement for 2018 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year will be made on Thursday afternoon.
