With most season-long fantasy football leagues having had their championship games last week, we’ll shift focus to daily fantasy picks for this Week 17 game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
Head coach Jason Garrett’s squad clinched the NFC East in Week 16, so the Cowboys don’t have anything to play for in the final game of the season. Despite that fact, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has already said the team will go “all-out” in Week 17 in regard to playing starters. No matter what Jones says, there is still plenty of risk involved in starting Cowboys players.
There isn’t much of a concern about Giants players, however, as head coach Pat Shurmur’s team won’t be resting his guys in a lost season and will look to finish the 2018 campaign with a win over a divisional opponent.
Let’s take a look at which Giants players are solid plays this week, as well as a suggestion for which Cowboys player you should start if you want to roll the dice on a high-risk, high-reward situation.
Giants tight end Evan Engram was very active in Week 16, as he broke 100 total yards from scrimmage thanks to a season-high 87 yards through the air and another 26 on the ground.
The second-year pro has seen his production surge late in the season after a slow start to 2018. Engram has totaled 75 receiving yards or more in each of his last three games, all of which have come with Beckham sidelined.
Engram finds himself in a matchup with Dallas’ middle-of-the-road defense against tight ends and the Ole Miss product torched Dallas’ defense for 67 yards and a score in Week 2.
Even if he doesn’t find pay dirt, Engram should have no issue producing enough catches and yards to make him worth it.
