For the second consecutive season, the New York Giants have essentially tanked, winning just six games combined over the previous two years to date. However, the 2018 version of the Giants does appear marginally improved compared to the 2017 version, but similar issues continue to persist.
The Giants have struggled along the offensive line, can’t seem to find health or stability at the tight end position, lack depth in their secondary and, perhaps above all else, have absolutely no pass rush to speak of.
Through 12 weeks, the Giants have recorded just 14 sacks, which is second-worst in the league behind only the Oakland Raiders (10.0). Making matters worse, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, whom New York traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, has recorded 10.5 sacks on the season.
So, who would the Giants steal from the Bears?
The question itself is almost laughable as need would meet remarkable opportunity. There’s no sense in trying to make this a climactic reveal because the answer is simple: Linebacker Khalil Mack.
Mack is arguably the most dominant defensive player in the NFL when healthy. He’s not only capable of changing a game, but can completely take one over as we’ve seen in recent years. He’s strong against the run, can make plays in coverage and, of course, is a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks and offensive lines.
In desperate need of just such a player, the Giants would be quick to jump on the theft of Mack, who has an 88.9 Pro Football Focus grade this season.
What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Would you pick Mack or would you steal an entirely different player from the Bears?
