Poll results show fans not thrilled with Dave Gettleman’s work on Thursday

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said quarterback Daniel Jones is “the right kid for us” after making him the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

The Giants fan base disagrees. Social media was ablaze with vehement disagreement immediately after the pick. Voters in our poll have given the pick an “F.”

Below, the full results:

That’s a combined 74 percent (4,078) of the 6,121 voters who gave the pick either a “D” or an “F.”

The selections of defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence at No. 17 and the trade to select cornerback Deandre Baker at No. 30 fared better.

Of 1,776 voters, 531 (30 percent) gave the pick of Lawrence a “C and 621 voters (35 percent) gave it a “B.”

Here is the full poll:

The Baker trade cost the Giants a second-round pick (37th), a fourth-round pick (132nd) and a fifth-round pick (142nd). It turned out, though, to be the move the fan base appeared to like most.

Forty-one percent (792) of 1,930 voters gave the pick a “B” and 30 percent (585 voters) gave it an “A.”
