It’s happened: Giants great Eli Manning has officially joined Twitter

It’s finally happened.

Eli Manning is on Twitter.

Yes, the two-time Super Bowl champion announced his presence on the social media platform on Saturday afternoon, referencing the movie Hoosiers in his first ever tweet.

This is certainly a monumental day for Giants fans, as the often soft-spoken Manning is now on part of the Twitterverse. But how will he use it? Will he keep most of his thoughts to himself, or could he be the next great meme trash talker? That’s still to be determined.

Fittingly, for now, Manning follow’s 10 other accounts, including the Giants and Ole Miss football. His bio reads “Once a Giant, Always A Giants, Only a Giant,” which is a nod to his retirement speech from earlier this offseason.

It’s also important to remember that former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes may be the real reason Manning ultimately decided to join Twitter. In mid-April. Tynes shared a screenshot of a text conversation in which Manning said he was “Thinking about it,” regarding creating a Twitter account.

But now it’s officially happened, and with Manning already having nearly 40,000 followers in just over an hour since his first tweet, it’s fair to say that people are anxiously awaiting what Manning will have to say.

Manning has received a warm welcome from many Twitter users, including Tom Brady:
