The New York Giants are currently in position to draft an impact player in next April’s NFL Draft. That is, if they stop winning. They are currently on a two-game winning streak and have fallen down to the fifth overall slot with a 3-7 record.
Many believe the Giants will pull out all the stops to find their next franchise quarterback, but former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin says maybe they should wait.
Think the Giants need to draft Eli Manning’s replacement IMMEDIATELY this offseason??
Think again … so says Michael Irvin — who tells TMZ Sports New York should wait until 2020 to get their new QB.
“You need the top pick, not this year, but NEXT year,” The Playmaker says.
Sooo … why?? Two words — Tua Tagovailoa.
Irvin thinks the Alabama QB — not anybody in this upcoming draft — is the key to finally replacing Eli and turning the Giants back around.
“If you get Tua, you’ve got something!”
We also asked the Hall of Fame wideout about his former team … and he tells us how Amari Cooper is single-handedly changing the Dallas Cowboys.
After watching the Los Angeles Rams/Kansas City Chiefs put on a ridiculous shootout on Monday night, quarterbacks will be at a premium now more than ever. The Giants will want to choose wisely.
Then, on the flip side, so will pass rushers. At the current time, the Giants do not have a single pass rusher to hang their hat on. They’ll need at least one, maybe two, in addition to that quarterback to compete in the coming years.
