Remember, though, these mocks are not yet impacted by this week’s Combine results
With on-field workouts at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine on-going it is impossible to know at this point how the Combine results will change the results of mock drafts. Currently, our Big Blue View Mock Draft Tracker for the New York Giants looks much like it has in recent weeks.
Of the 53 mocks in this week’s tracker, 35 (66 percent) chose an offensive tackle for the Giants with their first selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. Jedrick Wills of Alabama continues to be the runaway choice as the player most often selected. He was chosen 23 times, or 42.6 percent of the time.
Mekhi Becton of Louisville was selected six times (11.1 percent) and Andrew Thomas of Georgia and Tristan Wirfs were each picked three times (5.6 percent).
It is going to be fascinating to see if Becton closes that gap on Wills, especially if he tests as well as he expects to during on-field Combine drills.
Ohio State cornerback Jeffrey Okudah and Clemson do-everything defender Isaiah Simmons were each chosen in six mocks (11.1 percent).
The breakdown is as follows, showing the total votes and the percentages:
Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama (23 selections/42.6 percent)
Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State (6 selections/11.1 percent)
Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville (6 selections/11.1 percent)
Isaiah Simmons/LB, Clemson (6 selections/11.1 percent)
Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa (3 selections/5.6 percent)
Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn (3 selections/5.6 percent)
Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia (3 selections/5.6 percent)
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama (2 selections/3.7 percent)
Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama (1 selection/1.9 percent)
