Mock drafters want to get Giants some Hog Mollies!

Mock drafts continue to focus heavily on the offensive tackle position for the New York Giants, with 34 of the 48 selections in this weeks Mock Draft Tracker coming at that position.

Leading the way is Jedrick Wills (22 selections, 45.8 percent). Louisville offensive tackle Mekhi Becton (5 selections, 10.4 percent), Andrew Thomas of Iowa (4 selections, 8.3 percent) and Tristan Wirfs of Iowa (3 selections, 6.3 percent).

The defensive player drawing the most support is linebacker/safety hybrid Isaiah Simmons of Clemson (6 selections, 12.5 percent).

The pie chart below offers a graphic representation of how things stand.

A couple of interesting notes.

  • Support for Thomas, the Georgia tackle, seems to be slipping. A few months ago he was looked as the best tackle in the class, and he still may be. ESPN’s Mel Kiper said on a conferenced call this week that Thomas has “dropped a little bit” due to what is seen as needed technique work.
  • More and more, I see scenarios where Ohio State cornerback Jeffrey Okudah could fall to No. 4, leaving the Giants with a choice of Okudah/Simmons/defensive tackle Derrick Brown of Auburn/best offensive tackle on their board. Not a bad spot to be in. For what it’s worth, Kiper said of Okudah that “I don’t think he’s getting past there,” if he is still available to the Giants at No. 4.

All of the mocks are in the table below, with Round 2 selections where they were available.
