More Buzz Giants Willing To Trade Odell Beckham Jr For Fair Offer

After speaking with sources at the Combine in Indianapolis, Jay Glazer of The Athletic has “more confidence” in his bold prediction that the Giants will trade WR Odell Beckham Jr if they get a fair offer for him.

Glazer mentions that New York won’t move Beckham for a below-market offer.

However, Glazer thinks teams around the NFL would be more inclined to trade for Beckham than Antonio Brown at this point, given that there’s less drama around Beckham in team’s eyes.

On Wednesday, Giants GM Dave Gettleman told reporters that they “didn’t sign Odell to trade him.”

Glazer explains that Gettleman isn’t lying when he said this, but it still doesn’t mean that things won’t or haven’t changed from when they originally signed him.

Jason La Canfora reported yesterday that the Giants are not averse to trading Beckham.

According to La Canfora, Giants HC Pat Shurmurhas been at wits end on how to manage him” and “a trade is certainly not out of the question.”

La Canfora’s sources have pointed to the 49ers and Raiders as being the “most likely strong suitors” if trade talks escalate this offseason.

Beckham, 26, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $10,406,198 contract before the Giants picked up his fifth-year option in 2017.

Beckham was set to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new five-year extension worth up to $95 million and includes $65 million in total guarantees. He stands to make base salaries of $16.75 million and $14 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Beckham appeared in 12 games for the Giants and recorded 77 receptions for 1,052 yards receiving (13.7 YPC) and six touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Beckham as the news is available.
