Bubble players, late-round dsaft picks in this group

As we continue to roll through what are admittedly highly subjective New York Giants roster rankings we have arrived at Nos. 60-51. Here, you will find a mix of late-round draft choices and returning or experienced players who have to be considered “bubble” players when it comes to their chances of making the 53-man roster.

Here is the list:

60. TE Eric Tomlinson
59. RB Jon Hilliman
58. QB Alex Tanney
57. S Sean Chandler
56. LB Tae Crowder
55. CB Chris Wiliamson
54. LB T.J. Brunson
53. LB Carter Coughlin
52. LB Cameron Brown
51. DT RJ McIntosh

Let’s talk about some of the veterans. I put Tomlinson at 60, with Garrett Dickerson previously at 61. Maybe the only difference being that Tomlinson has been a good special teams player during his time in the NFL, and can even long snap in an emergency.

Hilliman is so far down the list because I’m not sure at all of his chances of making the 53. With Dion Lewis, Wayne Gallman, and Javon Leake to contend with Hilliman might be headed back to the practice squad.

Quarterback Alex Tanney and safety Sean Chandler are players who could find themselves on the outside looking in thanks to some of the offseason roster additions made by the Giants.

You’ll notice McIntosh at 51. With five defensive tackles clearly ahead of him — Dexter Lawrence, Leonard Williams, Dalvin Tomlinson, B.J. Hill, Austin Johnson — his roster spot is clearly in jeopardy.
