New York Giants Top News 5/23: Will Hernandez is the next big thing

Happy Thursday New York Giants fans! Today, I want to take a moment to appreciate the rebuild of the offensive line and the job GM Dave Gettleman has done to turn that unit around. From the days of Ereck Flowers to Bobby Hart, the Giants have brought in an entirely new group of players to protect Eli Manning.

Signing Nate Solder in 2018 and drafting Will Hernandez saw the left side take a massive jump. This offseason has been focused towards the right side where top 5 right guard Kevin Zeitler was acquired in a trade that sent Olivier Vernon over to Cleveland, but the Giants didn’t stop there, the also brought in right tackle, Mike Remmers.

I anticipate that Hernandez will take a major developmental jump in 2019. He has fantastic strength and plays with a massive chip on his shoulder. With both Solder and Hernandez enjoying a year of chemistry alongside one another, the offensive front could finally be good enough to allow Manning to operate at a high level.

Manning has been running for his life in recent years, but in what could be his final season in blue, he has the protection required.
