April 25, 10:59 PM:
How is Eli Manning dealing with the Giants drafting Daniel Jones? Duke coach David Cutcliffe has already talked to him and says “he’s fine” and willing to do whatever is best for the Giants.
April 25, 10:09 PM:
With Montez Sweat on the board along with several highly thought of offensive linemen, the Giants took Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence with the No. 17 pick.
April 25, 9:41 PM:
From what SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano heard from multiple NFL sources, the Giants knew there was no way QB Daniel Jones was going to still be there at No. 17. They had a real fear the Redskins were going to trade up to 3 or 4 to grab him first.
April 25, 9:02 PM:
The Giants have taken Daniel Jones with the No. 6 pick.
April 25, 8:49 PM:
In a stunner, the Raiders took DE Clelin Ferrell, potentially paving the way for Josh Allen to fall to the Giants at No. 6. Either way, Allen or LB Devin White will be there when the Giants pick.
April 25, 8:23 PM:
The Giants and Redskins have told the Cardinals that if they make Josh Rosen available after picking Kyler Murray No. 1 to make syre they call them first, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Meanwhile, SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano says to keep an eye on the Dolphins as a suitor for Rosen, with the Cards potentially trading him “fairly quickly.”
April 25, 3:34 PM:
SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano has been hearing speculation of the Giants potentially trading back in to the end of the first round to target West Virginia QB Will Grier or NC State QB Ryan Finley. Vacchiano doesn’t think the team likes Finley all that much, so Grier would be his best bet.
The Giants could very well get their quarterback of the future tonight, but would it be smart to trade back from presumably No. 17 for someone later in the draft? Draft capital is key for teams, so it can’t be ruled out.
April 25, 2:39 PM:
The Redskins, who have the No. 15 pick, are reportedly indecisive about which QB they’re planning to take — or whether they’ll take one at all with their first selection. According to ESPN’s Diana Russini, Washington owner Dan Snyder is “fixated” on Dwayne Haskins, but there is also a case being made elsewhere in the organization for Daniel Jones.
April 25, 12:21 PM:
The Raiders, who own the No. 4 pick, have reportedly moved quarterback Dwayne Haskins up on their draft board hours before the draft begins, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport. Though Derek Carr is under contract for four more seasons, Haskins impressed the Raiders brass during workouts.
