NY Giants: Evan Engram Will Have His Role Reduced (Report)
NY Giants tight end Evan Engram will reportedly have his role reduced moving forward in the team’s offense.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Evan Engram will have his role reduced in the Giants offense moving forward.
Running back Saquon Barkley tallied up a career-high 27 carries on Sunday vs the Buccaneers.
So, it seems like they could be transitioning to the colder weather by playing a more ground-and-pound style of football as the season dwindles down.
Over the past few weeks, Engram has seen his snap count plummet.
He played 36 snaps (61%) last Monday vs the 49ers and just 17 snaps (32%) on Sunday vs the Buccaneers.
(reference: Engram hadn’t played less than 81% of snaps this season before these last two weeks, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic)
I recently wrote about how Engram could be used as a trade chip come draft time.
