NY Giants edge rusher Olivier Vernon will likely be playing his last stretch of games with the organization.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Olivier Vernon’s future is “probably not with the Giants” after this season.

After missing the first five games of the season due to an ankle injury, Vernon has recorded just eight tackles on 294 snaps.

The Giants can save $11.5 million by cutting him this offseason.

With Lorenzo Carter’s development into a “defensive-only” player (as he says goodbye to special teams), it seems like the Giants are comfortable with him taking Vernon’s spot heading into next season.

I recently wrote an article detailing 4 free agent pass rushers the Giants could target this offseason.
