NY Giants: Pat Shurmur Likely To Get At Least 3 Seasons as Head Coach (Report)

The NY Giants will give Pat Shurmur some time before moving in another direction.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, he believes that head coach Pat Shurmur has at least three seasons to prove himself to the Giants.

He bases this on the current quarterback situation.

While also adding that Shurmur will eventually get the chance to pick his own quarterback either next year or the year after.

The plan was for the Giants to compete this season with Eli Manning as their starter but it hasn’t worked out.

The Giants are just 3-8 and Manning is on pace for only 20 touchdown passes.

Ben McAdoo lasted less than two seasons as head coach of the Giants due in large part to a destructive locker room.

Raanan has seen the opposite from Shurmur’s locker room.

While many may bash some of Shurmur’s in-game decision-making, especially this past week in regard to Saquon Barkley’s limited second half touches, it seems premature to put him on the hot seat with this current quarterback situation.

I once worked at CBS Sports (WFAN). The hours sucked. The staff sucked. And Joe Begnino was a creep. But I was awarded that amazing opportunity because of my website,, which is where my love for Facebook burner accounts began. I like unbiased arguments. Oh, and facts.
