With the Giants set to pick at No. 4 — for now — at the NFL Draft in April, Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah has been a likely target to end up in New York, and it looks like that process will get started on Saturday when the two sides meet at the NFL Combine.
Okudah said early Friday morning in Indianapolis that he has a formal meeting with Big Blue on Saturday, having already met with the Lions, Browns and Raiders earlier in the week.
“I’m not to familiar with the New York market,” Okudah said. “…I’m excited to find out.”
Okudah added that he’ll also be meeting with the Dolphins for the first time Saturday as well.
As a self described football guy, Okudah says he’s been following the NFL closely, and in particular has been eyeing the secondary situations of the teams with a Top 5 pick, including the Giants.
“The Giants have DeAndre Baker, [Sam] Beal. They just got Baker last year,” Okudah said on the Giants defensive back personnel. “I’ve been studying a lot of those top groups…I feel like I’m very cover versatile, so I’m just trying to figure out where the best fit would be.”
