Saquon Barkley says his shoulder “feels really good”

Running back reports no issues after missing some time Sunday

Saquon Barkley briefly left the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after landing awkwardly on his shoulder when he was tackled by Chicago linebacker Roquan Smith.

The New York Giants superb rookie returned to the game after being checked on the sidelines and told reporters on Monday that his “Shoulder feels really good. Feel nothing.”

Barkley now has 954 rushing yards and 602 receiving yards as he marches/flies/jitterbugs/powers his way to the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, which he seems virtually certain to win. Barkley’s 1,556 yards from scrimmage put him on pace for 2,075 for the season.

Other injury news

Coach Pat Shurmur told reporters that linebacker Tae Davis (ankle) is unlikely to be available this week against the Washington Redskins. Wide receiver Sterling Shepard (ribs) is expected to be available. Shepard told reporters that X-rays showed his ribs are not broken.
