The 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards took place on Sunday night and were hosted by retired New York Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Michael Strahan.

“I love the kids. I love the slime. I loved the games. I love seeing celebrities and athletes like become kids again. And it’s like my favorite thing,” Strahan told Variety.

While not garnering nearly the attention of the ESPY Awards, which were also held earlier this week, the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards play an important role for athletes across the world, allowing them to connect with the children who idolize them.

While Strahan predictably stole the show as host, he wasn’t the only member of the Giants family to have a big night.

Mere days after winning “Best Breakthrough Athlete” at the ESPYS, running back Saquon Barkley doubled up, taking home the orange blimp after winning “Favorite Breakout Player.”

Barkley rushed for over 1,300 yards, gained over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and scored a combined 15 touchdowns in 2018 en route to the 2018 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., now with the Cleveland Browns, took home the “King of Swag” award.
