The dream is dead.
The Giants’ no-show loss to the Titans coupled with the Vikings’ win over the Dolphins officially eliminated Big Blue from playoff contention on Sunday afternoon.
With the Giants now at 5-9 and the Vikings (who hold the second and final wild card spot) at 7-6-1, it doesn’t matter what the Giants or any team between them and the Vikings (and there are a bunch) do the last two weeks.
The Giants were eliminated last weekend from any chance to win the NFC East.
With the Giants now officially eliminated, there aretwo main things to keep an eye on over the last two weeks:
1. Will the Giants give Kyle Lauletta a full look in one or both of the final two games? Lauletta struggled last week in mop-up duty against the Redskins during what was his professional debut, and was inactive against the Titans.
2. Where will the Giants wind up in the Draft? Entering Sunday’s game, the Giants held the No. 9 pick.
